Putin, Netanyahu discuss Syria in phone call

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday discussed the situation in Syria in a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu also briefed Putin about his contacts with Ukraine – a country Russia has been at odds with – the Kremlin said in a statement.

The two leaders also discussed bilateral ties, it said.

Netanyahu also congratulated Putin on Victory Day, marking the anniversary of the end of World War II.
