Workers on Their Way to May Day Celebrations in Urfa Have Traffic Accident

The bus carrying the Elbistan State Hospital personnel to the May Day celebrations in Urfa had a road accident today (May 1). As of 10.31 a.m., five people have lost their lives in the accident.

As reported by Evrensel newspaper, personnel of the Elbistan State Hospital, who are also the members of Confederation of Right Worker Unions (HAK-İŞ), had a traffic accident while they were on their way to the May Day.

In the road accident that occurred near the district of Birecik, five people have lost their lives and 15 others have been wounded. Four of the wounded have been reportedly in serious condition. The wounded people have been referred to hospitals in the vicinity.

The May Day celebrations to be held in the province by the HAK-İŞ and Confederation of Public Servants Trade Unions (MEMUR-SEN) have been ended earlier than planned due to the accident. (AÖ/SD)
