Speaking at the inauguration of the National Intelligence Organization (MIT)'s new headquarters, President Erdogan said: Having gone beyond an entity that just gathers and reports information, our intelligence organization has now come to a point where it brings diplomacy and intelligence together and employs for diplomacy across its counterparts at the table the information it generates. Turkey has gained the capability to act in line with its own interests across the world without needing any country's consent or aid thanks to the MIT's successful works in every area.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan delivered a speech at the inauguration of the MIT's new headquarters.

INTELLIGENCE IS INDISPENSABLE FOR THE SURVIVAL OF THE STATE BOTH IN TIMES OF WAR AND PEACE

Stressing that intelligence is indispensable for the survival of the state both in times of war and peace, President Erdogan said: Those who fail to rule their today cannot shape their tomorrow. We need the MIT's support more than ever in this critical period Turkey and the world are going through. We take pride in the successes of each one of our nameless heroes and heroines who work selflessly day and night across a vast geography.

Pointing out that the world is going through a period of restructuring, President Erdogan stated: The threats and challenges we are faced with in this turbulent period keep evolving and enhancing. Without doubt, terror is the number one threat in this new period. Terrorist organizations such as PKK, YPG, FETO and DAESH have declared, so-to-speak, an all-out war on our country. Yet another threat is posed by the internal disturbances afflicting the countries in our region and the resulting crises.

IT IS A MUST FOR US TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT OUR OWN GAME PLAN

Any development arising from Syria is of direct concern to Turkey in respects of terror and migration as well as political consequences, underscored President Erdogan, and continued: Likewise, any incident that takes place in Iraq has implications on our country, directly or indirectly. The results of the power struggle and the regional alliances forged in the Eastern Mediterranean against our country are of vital importance to our near future. We cannot stand idly by in the face of this complicated and unsteady situation brought about by regional and global powers' competition in our region. It is a must for us to develop and implement our own game plan.

Citing the National Intelligence Organization as one of the leading intelligence organizations of the world, President Erdogan said: Having gone beyond an entity that just gathers and reports information, our intelligence organization has now come to a point where it brings diplomacy and intelligence together and employs for diplomacy across its counterparts at the table the information it generates. Turkey has gained the capability to act in line with its own interests across the world without needing any country's consent or aid thanks to the MIT's successful works in every area.
