Latest developments in Syria were discussed during the meeting between the delegations headed by Presidential Spokesperson Kalin and Russia's Special Envoy for Syria Lavrentiev.
The preservation of the Idlib memorandum, the formation and proclamation of the constitutional committee, the anti-terror fight across Syria, safe zone, the fight against all the terrorist elements including DAESH and PKK/YPG/PYD, achieving a political settlement within the framework of Syria's territorial integrity and the reconstruction of Syria were on the agenda of the meeting, during which Turkey's national security priorities were openly highlighted.
SUMMITS ON SYRIA
The agenda items and dates of the trilateral summit (Turkey, Russia, Iran) on Syria planned to be held soon and the following quadrilateral summit (Turkey, Russia, France, Germany) were also discussed.
It was stated during the meeting that Turkey's security concerns would be addressed and that the region would be cleared of all the terrorist groups. The importance of maintaining the two countries' cooperation regarding Syria in line with the principles of trust and transparency was emphasized. It was also underlined that the effective and continuous communication between the leaders of the Republic of Turkey and the Russian Federation would continue.
