Presidential Spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin met with a delegation from the United States House of Representatives at Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul. Regional developments, bilateral relations, the fight against terror, and the establishment of the safe zone in Syria and the political solution process were discussed at the meeting.
Highlighting the strategic importance of the relations between the two countries and the mutual will regarding the enhancement of the relations, the statement, issued after the meeting, said: It was stated that the rightful struggle Turkey has been waging against DAESH and PKK/PYD/YPG will continue with determination.
The statement noted: Our frustration regarding the two resolutions passed at the U.S. House of Representatives was voiced.
Turkey's works and efforts concerning the safe, voluntary and dignified return of Syrian refugees were conveyed during the meeting, and it was pointed out that the international community should also take responsibility on this issue.
It was stressed that extremism is a global issue and that the international community should exert more efforts about it.
