Presidential Spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin discussed the latest developments on Syria with U.S. Special Envoy to Syria, James Jeffrey, at the Presidential Complex.
During the meeting at the Presidential Complex between delegations headed by Presidential Spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin and U.S. Special Envoy to Syria James Jeffrey, the latest developments on Syria were discussed.
Turkey's national security priorities were clearly highlighted, and topics such as the fight against terror east of Euphrates and across Syria, the safe zone, implementation of the Manbij roadmap, combatting DAESH, PKK, YPG, PYD and all other terrorist elements, maintaining the Idlib agreement, reaching a political solution while protecting Syria's territorial integrity and reconstruction of Syria were discussed.
It was stated that, with the planned safe zone, Turkey's security concerns would be addressed and the area would be cleared of all terror groups. On this topic, the sides also agreed to reach, following negotiations between Turkish and U.S. technical delegations, a final conclusion and execute it.
The importance of sustaining cooperation on Syria in line with the principles of trust and transparency was underscored.
