A total of 101 irregular migrants were held on Tuesday in Turkey's Aegean province of Canakkale, security sources said.

The migrants -- including Afghan, Central African, Malian and Somalian nationals -- were preparing to cross to Greek island of Lesbos, said the sources on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

The security forces also arrested one suspect on charges of human smuggling.
