Wall Street closes with records after strong data
NEW YORK
Indexes in Wall Street closed at record high levels on Thursday with strong macroeconomic data.
The Dow added 135 points to finish trading at 21,144 and the S&P 500 rose 18 points to 2,430.
The Nasdaq increased 48 points to close at 6,246.
All three major indexes finished the day at their highest closing levels.
The American private sector added 253,000 jobs in May, beating the market expectation of 180,000, according to the ADP National Employment Report released earlier.
Institute of Supply Management (ISM) Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) index rose to 54.9 in May, beating the market expectation of 54.6.
