President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a speech at the closing of AK Party's consultation and assessment meeting in Ankara's district of Kizilcahamam.
ECONOMY AND SECURITY WILL BE AMONG OUR PRIORITIES
Underscoring that economy and security will be among their priorities in the upcoming period, President Erdogan, drawing attention to the last August's attack targeting Turkey's economy through foreign exchange, interest and, said that they took the necessary measures in a short span of time and enabled the transition to the normalization period. Pointing out that they ended 2018 with 2.6% growth rate, which he noted is an important growth rate, and that the exports reached 168 billion dollars, President Erdogan added: Positive reports are coming on every issue, from confidence indices and industrial production to capacity utilization rate.
WE WILL NOT SURRENDER TO ECONOMIC TERROR
Recalling that Turkey has entered a four-year election-free period, President Erdogan stated that they are determined to implement the necessary structural transformations one by one. President Erdogan went on to say: Actually, what happened in economy in the past 9.5 months did not originate from Turkey's economic facts. The attacks targeting our economy in recent months are no different than the bullets, missiles and bombs fired at our borders at one time. As a matter of fact, similar attempts were made one month ago, but we immediately took measures and averted them without anyone noticing. We have not and will not surrender to economic terror, too, just as we have not surrendered to armed and diplomatic terror. The President added: No power can stand against us as long as we, together with our citizens, business world and our state, act in unity and solidarity.
