Moussa says electoral law, budget endorsement top priority

NNA – Member of Parliament, Michel Moussa, said on Tuesday that the government’s top priority was drafting a new electoral law in attempt to pave the way to the impending legislative elections.

“The public budget should also be endorsed as soon as possible,” the lawmaker told the Voice of Lebanon radio station. “However, we can’t really demand much of a cabinet that came to serve for a brief stint,” he added.

“Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, advocates an electoral law that’s based on comprehensive proportionality,” the lawmaker said, adding that Berri’s mixed electoral law formula stood the best chance as it’s based on clear and fixed standards,” Moussa concluded.
