NNA – Means to bolster bilateral cooperation in the military field topped talks held Wednesday between Minister of National Defense, Samir Moqbel, and German Ambassador to Lebanon, Martin Huth.
“We discussed the means of cooperation and coordination between Lebanon and Germany in the field of defense,” the diplomat told reporters following the meeting.
“The meeting was an occasion to voice respect and appreciation for the Lebanese army and its excellent performance pertaining to preserving security and stability along Lebanon’s borders,” he said.
“We highly appreciate the army’s achievements, especially that we are well aware of the difficult tasks it is assuming,” he underlined.
A statement by the Minister’s office indicated that the pair also engaged in the current situation in Lebanon and the broader Arab region.
In addition, talks touched on the refugee crisis, as well as on terrorism menacing Lebanon.
