Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, received on Wednesday former Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, in Istanbul, on the sidelines of the latter's participation in the "Seventh Forum for International Cooperation."
Discussions focused on the situation in the region, and on means to strengthen bilateral relations.
Mikati also met Turkish Prime Minister, Binali Yildirim, and discussed with him the Lebanese-Turkish ties.
In a chat with Turkish media, Mikati said "Lebanon is always eager to building the best relations with all brotherly and friendly countries, especially Turkey. These relations will remain strong - God willing - on all political, economic and tourist levels."
Responding to a question, Mikati said "What Turkey is witnessing of exceptional advancement constitutes a distinctive example worth emulating. Perhaps the efforts made by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and his way of promoting Turkey's society and economy, have played the most important role in enriching this era, but the largest credit goes for the people of Turkey."
