Taken into custody last morning over his tweets and articles, journalist Ahmet Şık has been arrested by the court he was brought to.
İstanbul Criminal Judgeship of Peace arrested Şık on ground of “propagandizing for FETÖ, DHKP-C and PKK”.
On his Twitter account, attorney Efkan Bolaç conveyed that Şık ahead of the arrest decision said “Farewell if we cannot meet, don’t be desperate”.
About Ahmet Şık
Şık graduated from the Journalism department of Istanbul University, Faculty for Communication. Between 1991 and 2007, Şık worked for several newspapers such as Cumhuriyet, Radikal, Evrensel, and Yeni Yüzyıl. He has also worked at Nokta magazine and Reuters News Agency as a photo journalist.
