Israeli army detains woman after alleged stabbing attack near Qalandia checkpoint

JERUSALEM, � Israeli forces Monday detained a Palestinian woman near Qalandia Israeli military checkpoint, after she allegedly stabbed an Israeli soldier.

Israeli media sources said a knife-wielding woman, whose identity remains unknown, attacked a female soldier, stabbing her in the upper body, causing the soldier minor injuries.

Israeli forces temporarily closed off the checkpoint in both directions in the aftermath of the alleged stabbing attack.

The woman, in her 30s, is a resident of Ramallah's al-Taybeh village.
