Iran on Thursday said it has seized an oil tanker smuggling fuel in the Persian Gulf.
The vessel was seized by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) near the island of Qeshm, according to Mojtaba Ghahremani, judicial chief for the southern Hormozgan province.
The tanker was carrying 330,000 liters of smuggled fuel, he told the Tasnim News Agency.
Ghahremani said the ship’s 12 crew members have been arrested, but did not provide any information about their nationalities.
