First Lady Erdogan opens workshop at Ahmet Sani Gezici Imam Hatip School

Delivering a speech at the opening ceremony of the workshop, First Lady Erdogan said: Today, our children grow up as individuals who don't recite the knowledge but apply it to real life. Therefore, their ability to interpret and enrich the knowledge they acquire grows stronger. They are capable of bringing solutions to the problems in their environs since they are able to merge knowledge with experience. It is this very purpose that the workshop we are now inaugurating serves.

First Lady Emine Erdogan inaugurated the Try and Do Workshop at Ahmet Sani Gezici Imam Hatip High School for Girls in Istanbul.

Making a speech at the inauguration, First Lady Erdogan drew attention to the rapidly-changing needs and perception of education in today's world. Stressing that the model of education in which students are seen as passive listeners is outdated, the First Lady said: Today, our children grow up as individuals who don't recite the knowledge but apply it to real life. Therefore, their ability to interpret and enrich the knowledge they acquire grows stronger. They are capable of bringing solutions to the problems in their environs since they are able to merge knowledge with experience. It is this very purpose that the workshop we are now inaugurating serves.

Describing the objective of education as to raise individuals who cherish learning and are equipped with the abilities to deal with the needs of the modern world, First Lady Erdogan underlined that students with technology literacy will be able to take stronger steps towards the future.
