Falha hands Elarabi message from Jreij: Measures taken against media stations must not be subjected to political considerations

NNA – Information Minister, Ramzi Jreij, addressed the Secretary General of Arab States League, Nabil Elarabi, saying that “any decision taken against any media resource should be spelled out by competent courts and should not be subjected to political considerations that might badly affect the joint Arab work.”

Information Ministry Director General, Dr. Hassan Falha, on Monday visited Elarabi at the premises of said league, accompanied by Information Minister Advisor, Andre Kassas, whereupon Falha handed Elarabi a letter from Jreij.

Jreij underscored in the letter “the necessity to respect Lebanon’s sovereignty, regulations and laws, especially upon taking decisions related to local public or private institutions that work in accordance to Lebanese laws…Therefore, Lebanon is an active partner that must not be surpassed in any administrative decision that does not match with the Lebanese systems and the legislations of the Arab States League which aim to unite, not divide, between Arab peoples, like what happened with Al Manar Channel that has been banned from broadcasting via Arabsat satellite.”
