Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Rayya El Hassan, on Wednesday welcomed in her office at the Ministry the Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon, Jose Maria Ferre, who congratulated her on her new post.
Talks between the pair reportedly touched on the Lebanese-Spanish relations, as well as cooperation in development projects for municipalities at the developmental, services and host communities levels.
On emerging, Ambassador Ferre deemed Minister El Hassan as "a very competent person", saying the Spanish government is pleased for the appointment of a woman at the helm of this post.
In addition, El Hassan received Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon, Hacan Chakil, with whom she discussed the situation in Lebanon in light of Turkey's pivotal role in the region.
On emerging, Ambassador Chakil relayed Turkish government's strong support for the new government in Lebanon, saying they discussed means to enhance the bilateral relations at the security and municipalities' level.
