Bassil meets Richard, Bonne and discusses bilateral ties with German Ambassador

NNA – Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Gibran Bassil, held a meeting on Monday with Ambassador of Germany, Martin Huth, during which they tackled bilateral ties.

Huth told the press, following the meeting, that the prevailing positive atmosphere in Lebanon after the election of President Michel Aoun prompted Germany to look favorably onto bilateral relations.

“I relayed to Minister Bassil the aid offered by my country to displaced Syrians in Lebanon…and our recent commitment to aid the Lebanese army and security forces. We also touched on the issue of infrastructure,” said the Ambassador.

Separately, Bassil met with US Ambassador Elizabeth Richard and French Ambassador Emmanuel Bonne.
