An Armenian family was attacked in Samatya district of İstanbul on May 31.

İstanbul Armenian Patriarchate denounced the attack, with Deputy Patriarch Aram Ateshian visiting the family.

Ateshian said that they will closely follow the process regarding the revelation and punishment of the attackers.

The family said that they will move to Armenia because of the "environment of fear," the Armenian News Agency reported.

What happened?

On May 31 morning, shortly after Sarkis T. left home for work, someone rang the bell. His wife Arpine T. opened the door and faced two masked people. They stabbed the woman and said "This is the beginning," while they were running away.
