NNA – President of the Lebanese Republic, General Michel Aoun, stressed on his intention to work in favor of reaching balanced development in the country and justice between Lebanese, underlining the role of monitoring committees in combating bribery and corruption.

President Aoun on Tuesday met with political, religious and administrative dignitaries at Baabda Presidential Palace.

The president stressed that the Palestinian Cause “is a human essence that must not be defended with ease in order for the international justice not to be violated by the most powerful on ground.”

He thereby said that celebrating the World Day for Solidarity with Palestinian People must be incentive to UN to urge country members to abide by UN resolutions, notably those related to Palestinians’ rights, on top of them resolution 194 that embodies the right for Palestinian refugees to return to their homeland.

Amongst Baabda’s visitors had been Civil Defense top senior Raymond Khattar, the family of late singer and composer Melhim Barakat, and others.
