All demonstrations and events, except for the ones deemed suitable by the Governorship of Tunceli and individual district governorships, have been banned in Dersim for a period of 15 days as of today (November 13).

Releasing a statement on its website, the Governorship has imposed the ban "given that terrorist organizations might stage illegal meetings and demonstrations to receive the support and boost the motivation of their supporters in the face of operations conducted against them."

The Governorship has also stated that it has imposed the ban "to protect public order and people's safety of life and property". The ban will be in effect for 15 days till November 27.

Dismissal of Akpazar Co-Mayor

The statement of the Governorship has also referred to the dismissal of Akpazar Co-Mayor Orhan Celebi and appointment of a trustee in his place:

"It is estimated that, with the aim of protesting the related dismissals and appointments and upon the instructions of entities guided by the terrorist organization and its senior executives, there will be an attempt to keep the issue on the agenda by making social media calls to organize marches, sit-in protests, statements for the press, petition campaigns and similar other organizations throughout the country and in our province."
