ISTANBUL: The capacity utilization rate for the Turkish manufacturing industry posted a slight decline of 0.4 percentage points to 76.6% in May versus April, according to the findings of a Turkish Central Bank survey released on Monday. Data indicated that the highest utilization in the month was 76.6% in investment goods, and the lowest rate was 73.5% in non-durable consumer goods. Broken down by sector, the highest capacity usage was in the manufacture of paper products at 83.5%, while the lowest, 64.8%, was in leather products. Capacity utilization rate figures are based on responses to a business tendency survey of local units operating in the manufacturing industry.
