Parliament against discrimination, violence and prejudice, Demetriou says

The House of Representatives stands against any kind of discrimination, violence and prejudice and in respect for dignity, diversity, equality and freedom of expression, as befits a rule of law and an inclusive society, President of the House Annita Demetriou said on Thursday.

She said that on the occasion of the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, which is celebrated every year on May 17, the Parliament building was illuminated yesterday with the colours of the rainbow.

She noted that as UN SG Antonio Guterres, said in his message this year, "every attack on LGBTI+ people is an attack on human rights and our precious values."
