The Minister of Religious Affairs, Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohammad bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman, is currently in Saudi Arabia to attend a Haj meeting, which is held annually by Saudi Arabia’s Haj Ministry with other Muslim countries.
The meeting between Saudi Arabia’s Haj Ministry and Brunei’s Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) took place on Thursday, March 12.
Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohammad was accompanied at the meeting by Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, the Brunei Ambassador to Riyyadh, Pengiran Haji Imran bin Pengiran Haji Othman, the Deputy Consul General in Jeddah, Haji Abdullah bin Haji Mohamad, the Acting Director of Haj Management, and Haji Abdul Nasir bin Haji Bolhassan, a representative of Royal Brunei Airlines (RB).
Saudi Arabia was led at the meeting by Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed bin Hamzah As’ad Al-Hajjar, Minister of the Haj Ministry, representatives of senior officers from the ministry, as well as officials from Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs.
At the meeting, Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohammad conveyed appreciation to the Saudi Arabia government for their kind cooperation and service management services throughout the Haj period last year. The Saudi Arabia minister also conveyed his gratitude and contentment to Brunei’s Haj pilgrims and the management team last year.
The meeting, among others, also discussed the number of Haj pilgrims and management, administrative and medical matters, preparations, efforts to improve, the new comprehensive electronic information system, provision of facilities, welfare and comfort, as well as matters relating to flight bookings and accommodations in Madinah Al-Munawwarah, Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Masya’er (Arafah and Mina).
