Member of pro-government foundation caught distributing fake CHP leaflets

CHP members were suspicious of a group distributing leaflets in Esenler of Istanbul. They checked and saw that the leaflets being distributed were fake leaflets in the name of their party, and one of the people distributing them was a representative of the pro-government foundation TÜGVA. Republican People's Party (CHP) members were informed that fake leaflets were being distributed in the name of their party, and they went to the spot in question.

Bülent Ütebay, a candidate for MP in the 2nd electoral district of Istanbul under CHP and other CHP members made a criminal complaint about those who were distributing fake CHP leaflets.

It was claimed that one of those distributing the fake leaflets was Seref Yumurtaci, Esenler representative of the Turkey Youth Foundation (TÜGVA).

A foundation for youth and students, Bilal Erdogan, Recep Tayyip Erdogan's son, has a seat in the high advisory council of the foundation and participates in the opening of new office buildings of the foundation, and therefore TÜGVA has become known as related to the Erdogan family.

Upon the complaint by Ütebay and other CHP members, suspects, and among them Yumurtaci, have been detained.

In the fake CHP leaflets being distributed, Kemal Kiliçdaroglu, the CHP leader and the joint presidential candidate of the Nation Alliance of six opposition parties is portrayed as saying, "Why should LGBTI+ spoil our family structure?" and "A head scarf is only a meter of cloth
