AGP re-elected governing board member of ASOSAI (Daily Balochistan Express (Pakistan))

The Auditor General of Pakistan has been reelected as Governing Board Member of Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) for further three year (201518) term.
The Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of 13 countries contested the election for six vacant seats of ASOSAI Governing Board, according to a statement here Friday. The Election was held on Friday during the second session of 13th ASOSAI Assembly at Kuala Lampur Malaysia.
Out of them Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Indonesia, Nepal and Thailand were successful in securing seats on ASOSAI Governing Board.
This is an honour for Pakistan that a large number of SAIs of Asian region have shown trust in professional capability of SAI Pakistan. Winning a seat on ASOSAI Governing Board will enhance prestige of Pakistan among the comity of nations.
The ASOSAI comprises the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of 46 Asian countries and provides a forum where developments in the fields of financial management, audit and accounting are shared among the member states.
The AuditorGeneral of Pakistan remained as Governing Board member of the ASOSAI from 2000 to 2009 and 2012 to 2015. The Auditor General of Pakistan served as Chairman ASOSAI from 2009 to 2012 now owing to the active role and participation of the AGP amongst the International audit community and contribution towards profession of Audit, AGP has been re elected as Governing Board Member for further three year term 2015 to 2018.
